    HAPPY DIPAWAI

    Maharishi explains the Name “Maha-Lakshmi”:
Maha Lakshmi... the first syllable is Maha. Maha, great. And this great in the context of education is the characteristic of consciousness. This Maha is the goal of anyone who is not yet Maha. So, Maha goal is the meaning of the word Laksha... Laksha means the goal (Maha means unbounded, infinite, immortal, eternal, Brahm, Totality, whole). Maha is the goal of that which is not Maha. The goal of Maha is to swing in his greatness. It should be a living reality.

That the unbounded does not remain only silent. But in that silence, there should be lively all possibilities. So, the Laksha, the goal, the goal of Maha is to have many in its unified wholeness. And the goal of that what is not Maha, the goal of small is to be big and the goal of big is to swing in its own expressions. Infinity wants to flow from one end of infinity to the other end of infinity and it s flowing, it divides itself, it quantifies itself, it qualifies itself.

So it is the qualification which makes one look to the goal. Small wants to qualify itself into as big as possible. The big wants to qualify itself as the field of all possibilities from this end to that end. Maha is a goal and MI is a very, very significant word which is made of two values, MA and I. When we look to MA, naturally it is me, the first to the self, ME, even in English me, but in the Vedic terminology MI we understand as total value of all four Vedas. MA, what MA is, it s the HUM, Hummm.

Agnim-m-m. Rig, Yajur, Sama, Atharva. Then Atharva is a Hum. Hum of all the four Vedas... Agni, it s a collapse of all the progression of all the Vedas into a Hum. Â Hum means the total values of all sounds; all sounds are inherent in Hum. And in that Hum which is focused on a point, that reality of the point is then transformed into dynamism, which is represented by I.

So, Maha Lakshmi this is the total Veda, concentrated into the Hum and made dynamism. Here is concentration at a point, which then in its nature is all dynamism. Â So, in the word Maha Lakshmi we have that enormous, unbounded, total, infinite, eternal immortality expressed in all the Vedas and found located in a point. And then expanding a point in infinity, and dynamism again into Maha. So, here is the total __expression of the Veda, total __expression of pure knowledge. Along with its infinite organising power in one point concentrating and expanding. This point value, this is Maha Lakshmi...

So, the element of Maha Lakshmi is a composite of two values of opposite directions. Focal point and expanding in its nature, this is called Anyonyabhava. It has two kinds of directions, coming in, expanding and going out... So, the Laksha, the goal of expanding value is to concentrate.  The goal of concentrated value is to expand. And here is the seed of Maha. This is Maha Lakshmi, at the  point, which is both, expansion and contraction, infinite potential of the expansion element we could see along with infinite expansion of contraction element.
That means no matter where the situation is, there is all possibility, no matter at what level we are considering or at any level of contraction or at any level of expansion, here or here, at any level is Maha Lakshmi. Â There is a field of all possibilities and the field of all possibilities in each cell is a concentrated point of silence within the quality of infinite dynamism. Silence and dynamism, that means completely fulfilled of wakefulness.

Completely fulfilled because it is not devoid of anything. Infinite silence concentrated, infinite dynamism concentrated and therefore it is eternal state of fulfilment. Â It is a fulfilment of eternal value. Fulfilment of immortal value because there is a field of all possibilities and in this field of all possibilities is the element of fulfilment, infinite bliss. Infinite bliss is a quality of fulfilment and fulfilment the quality of lack of lack. Devoid of nothingness.

It is all fullness, completely fulfilled, self-sufficient infinity, eternity, capable of flowing in terms of waves, modified, qualified and still remaining unqualified at all time . Unqualified qualified fulfilment, that means it is  unmanifest total potential of all qualifications that may be thought or desired.  Maha Lakshmi is an element of all possibilities,  completely self-sufficient at any time, and any place. It is the total potential of all possibilities. In the __expression of prosperity, the __expression of growing prosperity, it is not stagnant prosperity it is growing prosperity, growing and growing and growing. Growing up to what?

Beyond the capability of growth it grows and grows and grows. This is what is materialised in the ever-expanding universe. So, this ever-expanding value of universe and in every step of progress there is a wave of happiness, wave of happiness. Progress means successive waves of happiness. Progress is always progressive.

So, Maha Lakshmi is a basic of all progress, it is so self-sufficient in its self interacting dynamics that it creates and creates and creates itself in terms of infinite variety. Â This is the progressive fulfilling Nature of Maha Lakshmi. And in this fulfilling Nature of Maha Lakshmi, because everything is growing, growing fulfilment, the progressive Ananda growing, bliss, moving around in waves and this, what we have in this is the power of Ananda, keeping everything evolutionary.

So, we say this is organising power, Maha Lakshmi is not only the element of progress but also an element of progress, which is always waves on this evolutionary direction. Â So, this aspect of Maha Lakshmi is called Durga, action principle. Now, this action principle is the characteristic of pure knowledge. Knowledge is the characteristic of Saraswati. So, this Saraswati is present in Maha Lakshmi. Durga is present in Maha Lakshmi. Maha Lakshmi present at a point and in the unbounded infinity.

So, in this what we see is the element of Maha Lakshmi, that element is present everywhere, lively everywhere, action everywhere, silence everywhere. From this angle what we see is as the whole creation is nothing other than the _expression of Maha Lakshmi...

  • Celebrating Lord Hanuman`s Divine Birthday today!

Hanuman is the first amongst all devotees of Lord Rama, and is worshipped for his unflinching devotion to God. From early morning, devotees flock Hanuman temples to worship him.
    hanumanjie Divine
Hanuman Jayanti is an important festival in the Vedic Culture. Hanuman is the symbol of strength and energy. Hanuman is said to be able to assume any form at will, wield rocks, move mountains, dart through the air, seize the clouds and rival Garuda in swiftness of flight. He is worshipped in folk tradition as a deity with magical powers and the ability to conquer evil spirits.
    A pretty Hanumanjie Video:

The devotees will visit temples and apply tilak of sindhoor to their foreheads from the Hanumans body as this is considered to be good luck. According to the legend Sita was applying sindhoor to her head, Hanuman Ji questioned why and replied that this would ensure a long life for her husband. Hanuman then smeared his entire body with sindhoor, in an effort to ensure Rama’s immortality.
In Maharashtra, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the full moon day (pournima) of the Hindu lunar month of Chaitra. A special feature of Hanuman Jayanti is that according to some religious almanacs (panchangs) the birthday of Hanuman falls on the fourteenth day (chaturdashi) in the dark fortnight of the month of Ashvin while according to others it falls on the full moon day in the bright fortnight of Chaitra. On this day, in a Hanuman temple spiritual discourses are started at dawn. Hanuman was born at sunrise. At that time the spiritual discourse is stopped and the offering of food (Prasad) is distributed to everyone.

    Jai Sri Hanuman-jie Namah

An diesem Tag verehre Sri Hanuman. Faste an diesem Tag.

Today the world rejoices in celebration Lord Ganapaties (Shri Ganesh) divine birth!
    Ganesha
The Live broadcast of Ganesh Puja via Internet is on Sunday at 14.45, by Holland time (CET).
    www.maharishichannel.in

    Divine Enlightened One,
    Shiva Shankar Maheshwara Shambhu
Live broadcast Ganesh Puja is on Sunday at 14.45, by Holland time.

I wish you really great Ganesh birthday, May The son of Shiva and Parvati, The Great Lord of Success bring you all success and destroy all evil and obstacles fro your path to Enlightenment and to highest fulfilment in every area of life.

Because this very special day of Ganesh the aspect of the Cosmic Creative Intelligence which helps in removing obstacles and hindrances is most lively in nature, may you with Ganesh blessings enhances your ability to remove obstacles in
all areas of life and increases your intellectual clarity and success in achieving all your goals.

    Significance of the Ganesha Form

Ganesha's head symbolizes the Atman or the soul, Self, which is the ultimate supreme reality of human existence, and his human body signifies Maya or the earthly existence of human beings. The elephant head denotes wisdom and its trunk represents the sound symbol of cosmic reality. In his upper right hand Ganesha holds a goad, which helps him propel mankind forward on the eternal path and remove obstacles from the way. The noose in Ganesha's left hand is a gentle implement to capture all difficulties.

The broken tusk that Ganesha holds like a pen in his lower right hand is a symbol of sacrifice, which he broke for writing the Mahabharata. The rosary in his other hand suggests that the pursuit of knowledge should be continuous. The laddoo (sweet) he holds in his trunk indicates that one must discover the sweetness of the Atman. His fan-like ears convey that he is all ears to our petition. The snake that runs round his waist represents energy in all forms. And he is humble enough to ride the lowest of creatures, a mouse.

    How Ganesha Got His Head

The story of the birth of this zoomorphic deity, as depicted in the Shiva Purana, goes like this: Once goddess Parvati, while bathing, created a boy out of the dirt of her body and assigned him the task of guarding the entrance to her bathroom. When Shiva, her husband returned, he was surprised to find a stranger denying him access, and struck off the boy's head in rage. Parvati broke down in utter grief and to soothe her, Shiva sent out his squad (gana) to fetch the head of any sleeping being who was facing the north. The company found a sleeping elephant and brought back its severed head, which was then attached to the body of the boy. Shiva restored its life and made him the leader (pati) of his troops. Hence his name 'Ganapati'. Shiva also bestowed a boon that people would worship him and invoke his name before undertaking any venture.

However, there's another less popular story of his origin, found in the Brahma Vaivarta Purana: Shiva asked Parvati to observe the punyaka vrata for a year to appease Vishnu in order to have a son. When a son was born to her, all the gods and goddesses assembled to rejoice on its birth. Lord Shani, the son of Surya (Sun-God), was also present but he refused to look at the infant. Perturbed at this behaviour, Parvati asked him the reason, and Shani replied that his looking at baby would harm the newborn. However, on Parvati's insistence when Shani eyed the baby, the child's head was severed instantly. All the gods started to bemoan, whereupon Vishnu hurried to the bank of river Pushpabhadra and brought back the head of a young elephant, and joined it to the baby's body, thus reviving it.

    Ganesha, the Destroyer of Pride

Ganesha is also the destroyer of vanity, selfishness and pride. He is the personification of material universe in all its various magnificent manifestations.
    The Grand Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration

A life-like clay model of Lord Ganesha is made 2-3 months prior to the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. The size of this idol may vary from 3/4th of an inch to over 25 feet.

On the day of the festival, it is placed on raised platforms in homes or in elaborately decorated outdoor tents for people to view and pay their homage. The priest, usually clad in red silk dhoti and shawl, then invokes life into the idol amidst the chanting of mantras. This ritual is called 'pranapratishhtha'. After this the 'shhodashopachara' (16 ways of paying tribute) follows. Coconut, jaggery, 21 'modakas' (rice flour preparation), 21 'durva' (trefoil) blades and red flowers are offered. The idol is anointed with red unguent or sandal paste (rakta chandan). Throughout the ceremony, Vedic hymns from the Rig Veda and Ganapati Atharva Shirsha Upanishad, and Ganesha stotra from the Narada Purana are chanted.

For 10 days, from Bhadrapad Shudh Chaturthi to the Ananta Chaturdashi, Ganesha is worshipped. On the 11th day, the image is taken through the streets in a procession accompanied with dancing, singing, to be immersed in a river or the sea symbolizing a ritual see-off of the Lord in his journey towards his abode in Kailash while taking away with him the misfortunes of all man. All join in this final procession shouting "Ganapathi Bappa Morya, Purchya Varshi Laukariya" (O father Ganesha, come again early next year). After the final offering of coconuts, flowers and camphor is made, people carry the idol to the river to immerse it.

The whole community comes to worship Ganesha in beautifully done tents. These also serve as the venue for free medical checkup, blood donation camps, charity for the poor, dramatic performances, films, devotional songs, etc. during the days of the festival.

During this great celebration day it is aucpicious to meditate, participate in Ganesh Puja, worship Ganesh. Take fresh spiritual resolves to receive blessings Lord Ganesha for inner spiritual strength to attain success in all your undertakings.

Don’t forget not to look at the moon on that day; remember that it behaved unbecomingly towards the Lord. This really means avoid the company of all those who have no faith in God, and who deride God, your Guru and religion, from this very day.

May the blessings of Sri Ganesha be upon you all! May He remove all the obstacles that stand in your spiritual path! May He bestow on you all material prosperity as well as liberation!
Enjoy this lovely quotes of Maharishi!

"Naturalness is the basis of effectiveness.
If one poses to be something else, one loses the charm of naturalness.
The result is that one accumulates stress.
We do not think of life – we live it.
We do not think of ourselves too much.
We do not think of others too much..
We just behave in a natural way.
Don't make moods – wonder what anyone thinks of us.
We do not live life on the remarks of others.
What others think of us is not our concern – it is their concern. …
It is important only that we radiate life.
Every individual must be a joy to himself, to his family and to his society."

    Divine Enlightened One,

  • Happy Birthday Lord Krishna 2009

    When is Janmashtami?

    birthkrishna

    Janmashtami 2009 is today, 1he 13. & 14. of August 2009

Janmashtami celebrates the birth of one of the most famous Gods of Hindu religion, Bhagwan Krishna, on the eighth day (Ashtami) in the month of Sravana or Savana. Lord Sri Krishna was born on the 'Rohini' nakshatram (star). It is generally celebrated in the month of August-September according to the Christian Calendar. Legend has it that Sri Krishna was Born on a dark, stormy and windy night to end the rule and atrocities of his maternal uncle, Kansa.

Position of Stars at the time of Birth
It was only on the eighth day of the second fortnight, in the month of Sravana when, the moon entered the house of Vrishabha in Rohini Nakshatra (star) that Lord appeared. According to Barhapatyamana, the month of Sravana corresponds to the month of Bhadrapada Krishnapaksha. Lord was born in the year of Visvavasu, appx. 5,227 years ago.

    shri krishna2
    Celebrated for over Two Days
Janmashtami is celebrated for over two days as “Rohini” nakshatra and Ashtami may not fall on the same day. The first day known as Krishnashtami, as the birth of Bhagwan Krishna falls on the eighth day after Raksha Bandhan, which generally falls in the month of August. The second day is known as Kalashtami.

    Govinda 1a.31.8.02
    Welcome the Lord at Midnight
It is only at midnight between the first and the second day that birth of Sri Krishna took place. The actual festivities begin during midnight in this 48 hour period. The celebration reaches its peak at midnight, with the birth of Lord Krishna, with lot of hymns, arti taking place and blowing of the Conch (shankh), rocking the cradle of Lord. The idol of lord is bathed with Panchamrit (A mixture of milk, ghee, oil, honey and Gangajal). The Panchamrit is later distributed as Prasad to the devotees along with other sweets. While some Fast on the first day and break it at midnight for others the fasting continues for both days. The period coincides with rainy season.

    Birth of Lord Krishna

Janmashtamiis celebrated to welcome and enjoy Lord Krishna's birth. The birth of Lord Krishna took place when the various planets were in auspicious places. It is said that God chooses a particular time, as to when he will take birth as a human and the planetary systems are adjusted accordingly.

    Auspicious Nakshatra (Constellation)
Around the time of Bhagwan Krishna's birth, Rohini Nakshatra was predominant as it is considered to be quite auspicious. This is so because it is under the supervision of Brahma, the creator of Universe. Sri Krishna was born in the month Of Sravana more than 5000 years ago.

Born in Dwapur Yug (Iron Age)
According to some scholars, Krishna was born on Wednesday, the eighth day of second fortnight in Sravana month in the year of Visvavasu around 3227 BC, also known as Dwapur Yug. July 19th 3228 BC to be more accurate. He lived for 125 years and disappeared on February 18th 3102 BC on the new moon night of Phalguna. His death was the onset of the current corrupt age known as Kaliyug.

Universal Happiness of all Forms of Life
From the time, Devki conceived Sri Krishna, she began to glow and exude divine light. The prison walls glowed with the aura of the new born infant. Atmosphere of peace and happiness prevailed all over, Forests were all green and full of trees with all kinds of beautiful flowers, rivers were all swollen due to joy, peacocks began to dance in sheer joy, people in all villages started being happy.

    Objective of Krishna's Birth
The main objective of Lord Krishna's birth was to free Mother Earth from the wickedness of demons. Playing an important part in Mahabharata (legendary battle in Kurukshetra) and propagating the theory of bhakti and good karma were other important objectives.

Events Before The Birth of Sri Krishna
The people of Mathura were extremely unhappy with the wicked king Kansa who put his father, king Ugrasen in prison and declared himself the king of Mathura. It was to put an end to his evil ways and other demons that Lord Vishnu decided to take birth on Earth in human form. According to Akashvani (heavenly voice) at the wedding of his beloved sister Devki, Kansa got to know that the eighth child of his sister will take birth to kill him. So, in turn he rushed to kill his sister. Kansa gave up the idea of killing after being assured by Vasudev that he will handover all his children to him. He put them in Prison. Kansa killed all the six infants as soon as they were born. The seventh child (Balram) was saved due to divine intervention, when he was transferred from Devki's womb to that of Rohini's (other wife of Vasudev).

Events During the Birth of Lord Krishna
Lord Krishna was born in a prison cell in the captivity of King Kansa. He took birth in divine form with lotus like eyes, his palms bearing the signs of a lotus and discus. He had a swastika sign on his sole. Wearing a yellow colored silk cloth, adorned with precious diamond earrings and a crown made of emeralds. Soon after the birth, a chain of events astonished Vasudev, when he saw the gates of the cell flow open and all the guards fast asleep. He immediately thought of Nand ,his close friend in Gokul and decided to handover his child to him in order to save him from the clutch of Kansa.
    Govinda-b-geburtstagjpg
River Yamuna Bows To The Feet of Sri Krishna
The night of birth was witnessed by heavy rains which led to River Yamuna being in floods. As soon as the feet of Lord immersed in the river, the flow became normal and Yamuna made way for the Lord. Sheshnag, the serpent formed an umbrella to save the new born baby from rain.

    Exchange of the Babies
Vasudev kept his child next to fast asleep Yashoda and took the baby girl lying with him back to Mathura. The baby girl is believed to be the sister of Lord Vishnu.

    Disappearance of The Divine Child
On hearing the news of birth of the eighth child of Devki and Vasudev, Kansa rushed to the prison-cell and lifted the baby girl to kill her despite pleadings from Devki. However, instead of hitting the stone, the child flew up in the air and announced that the annihilator of Kansa was born and in safe hands.

Krishna later grew in Gokul and finally killed his maternal uncle, King Kansa.

All Glories to Bhagavan Lord Gopala Hâri

Krishna Janmashtami, 4 of September 2007

  • Happy Guru Purnima 2009

The Masters of the Vedic Tradition have been exponents of reality from earliest ages. In each new epoch, they have propounded the enduring truths of practical living and have set out those standards by which men's lives may attain the highest achievements and fulfilment, generation after generation. On 29 July Maharishi paid homage to his Master, Shri Guru Dev, His Divinity Brahmanand Saraswati Maharaj, Jagatguru Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, Badarikashram, Himalayas.

Maharishi attributes all his achievements to Shri Guru Dev, His Divinity Brahmanand Saraswati Maharaj, Jagatguru Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, Badarikashram, Himalayas—most illustrious embodiment of Vedic Wisdom in the eternal tradition of Vedic Masters: 'All the differences and dissensions of various castes, creeds, and Sampradayas dissolved in his presence, and every party felt itself to be a thread in the warp and woof of society.... Such was his universal and all-embracing nature.'
(Maharishi speaking on Guru Dev to the first teachers of Transcendental Meditation four decades ago.)

Describing his first meeting with Shri Guru Dev, Maharishi once said: ' As a thirsty man arrives at a well, so I arrived at the feet of my Master. The quest of a perfect Master was there. The first sight of his personality was enough to make me surrender at his feet. He was the most highly revered sage in India and was held as the embodiment of divine consciousness . . . .'
